Precipice

Sometimes
the edge of the precipice
is near.

The grind –
—– day after day,
—– resume after resume,
—– I submit;
yet no one is interested.
And at the precipice I stand.

My husband
—– is in the same boat.
Together forever are we;
—– it is stifling
—– —– at times.
He does not understand
—– my creative side;
I think he thinks we should be together –
—– stuck with Krazy Glue;
And at the precipice I stand.

The snow, the cold,
—– the ice.
—– —– It’s neverending.
This new month, when spring comes,
—– and yet it snows,
—– turning to ice on the ground because of the cold.
Will I ever see grass again?
And at the precipice I stand.

  1. I can so relate to your hubby not getting your creative side. I can identify with your standing there. I took the jump and went to work for H&R Block last year. It darn near made me want hang myself from boredom. You can’t shove creative people in boxes that small. I don’t think hubbies understand that.
